Month running Wall Regulator
Mechanical Month Running Precision movement.
Oakside is pleased to offer this superb modern Vienna Regulator which is fitted with a month running precision true regulator movement - Frank is so impressed with this clock that one now has pride of place in his sitting room.
The hand polished satin black finish cabinet with bright metal inlays is in classic modern design complete with glazing to the door and sides.
Fitted with a white dial decorated with black Roman numerals (I-XII) and baton indices and a subsidiary seconds dial.
Mechanical Precision cable-driven movement with 31 days running between windings
The precision movement has 6 ball bearings in the gear system, 2 ruby bushings are used for the third wheel, escape wheel and anchor. The Graham dead beat escapement has 2 ruby pallets.
The maintaining power reserve is engaged during winding keeps constant power to the movement for highest accuracy.
The true second indication will be managed by a 60 step wheel.
For highest accuracy it is fitted a carbon pendulum shaft with the famous “Huygenscher läufer” named after its inventor Huygens and used in precision pendulum clocks, a small platform is fitted to the pendulum rod; by adding or removing very small additional weights (masses) to or from this platform, causes a change in the centre of gravity of the pendulum and as a consequence, changes the oscillation period of the pendulum. In a combination with a double weight cylinder pendulum bob. Beat / tick adjustment is performed with an adjustment controller.
As correcting time-keeping by adjusting the pendulum length can be a long process, Frank will fully adjust the pendulum on the Kingsland to provide an accuracy of within several seconds a day, prior to delivery, using the Oakside Electronic PC based timing instrument. After instalation you can then make ultra fine adjustments using the micro weights provided.
Unlike making adjustments to the pendulum bob which necessarily means stopping the clock, the small weights are varied using tweezers without causing the clock is stopped.
The micro weights made of nickel silver or aluminium are often marked, according to the approximate change in pendulum period.
The pendulum shaft has a small cradle that accommodates micro weights - by adding or removing different sizes of micron weight using the supplied tweezers, the centre of gravity of the pendulum is altered and this provides extremely fine corrections to the pendulum swing and time-keeping.
We are frequently asked about the time-keeping accuaracy acheivable with the Kingsland - by carefull adjustment of the pendulum, our computer based monitoring instrument is demonstrating that our showroom clock is now averaging an accuracy rate of -0.03 seconds/24 hours. We will provide a printout of this result if requested.
This is a true regulator and it is supplied with complete with Oakside´s full instructions for both installing and diagrams for time-keeping adjustment and settings. Frank will also be happy to assist over the phone during this process.
